About Us

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an organization which promotes re-creation of life in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Its members study and recreate all the good aspects of the period from the fall of Rome to the settlements of the New World in the 1600's. The Shire of An Dun Theine is the Huntsville, Alabama chapter of the SCA. Our Shire resides within the Kingdom of Meridies.

Welcome

The SCA is made-up of all ages, from the young to the young at heart and there is truly something for everyone. We welcome you to attend our local meetings and events. You needn't join the SCA, Inc, to attend and participate (although if you decide to be with us regularly you may wish to join for the discounts and monthly publications).

An Dun Theine has a Chatelaine, who is dedicated to assisting new people in our group. Her SCA name is Zofeia Iul’iana Iastrebova zhena (known in modern life as Monica Altstatt). She will be happy to help you with any questions you may have.

The Battered Blade is our online newsletter. Feel free to visit it from the menu above.
